Bloomberg has shared its predictions for the new iPhone in an article, offering some previously-unknown tidbits ahead of Apple’s September keynote.
Mark Gurman and Debby Wu suggest that Apple will call the next iPhone the iPhone Pro, and feature an OLED display and a new triple-camera system which wide-angle, telephoto, and ultra-wide lenses for the first time, offering quality unlike anything seen on the iPhone.
According to Gurman, the new iPhone 11 Pro features code in iOS 13 that allows users to take three images simultaneously from each of the new lenses, combining them to create stunning higher-resolution pictures that rival “some traditional cameras,” as well as improve upon the iPhone’s low-light performance, something that has been criticized in the past.
The report also added that users will be able to adjust the framing and crop after the image has already been taken, something that 9to5Mac reports would be called Smart Frame.
Video quality on the new iPhone 11 Pro will also be “significantly upgraded” and adjustments can be applied live in real-time as the content is being recorded, something that will no doubt be useful when at concerts or filming memories with friends and family at special occasions.
The new trio of iPhones won’t all necessarily feature a new matte finish – according to Bloomberg, only “some colors” will sport the new matte finish, which is designed to be more durable and protect against shattering.
The new design also improves water resistance and introduces bilateral wireless charging for AirPods and other wireless charging devices.
Apple will make some big changes to Face ID, with a new sensor that’s multi-angle, meaning users can unlock their handset even when the device is flat on a surface like a table.
Bloomberg also offered some insights into the iPhone XR successor, with Apple supposedly developing a new green color option and introducing a dua-lens camera for the first time.
All three new iPhones will ship with Apple’s next-generation A13 chip, which will feature a matrix coprocessor to optimize certain tasks and improve everyday productivity performance.
