iPhone 15 Pro Exclusive: Only Model to Support 120Hz Always-On Display

According to a new report, only the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models will feature a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) display which supports a 120Hz refresh rate and Always-On display. The standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will apparently not feature LTPO display technology.

LTPO technology helps reduce power consumption by dynamically changing the refresh rate of the display, making it more power efficient. Apple first introduced LTPO display technology in its iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models in 2022, which offered an Always-On display with a 1Hz refresh rate, advanced ProMotion technology, and Dynamic Island.

A Korean blogger, @yeux1122, has claimed that the iPhone 15 standard models will not have LTPO display technology and will not support Always-On display with 120Hz refresh rate.

Apple is reportedly finalizing the details for mass production and has already made arrangements to deliver display panels for the iPhone 15 series to domestic companies.

Recently, there were reports that Apple’s supplier BOE was facing technological problems in the production of low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) OLED panels for the iPhone 15, suggesting that the tech giant was not going to feature LTPO OLED panels in the standard models.

Despite this, there are rumors that the standard iPhone 15 models will feature Dynamic Island, a new interactive space on top of the display that shows notifications, live updates, and other animations.
