People who are eagerly anticipating the launch of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in Belgium, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland or the Netherlands can now, through Apple’s website, each reserve their model in preparation for picking it up in-store on launch day.
Apple fans in these countries can, through the company’s Reserve and Pickup program, choose one of the new iPhone models before booking a specific time slot in which they can pick up the handset at a local Apple store on October 9. That’s the day that the new iPhones are released in a total of 40 second wave launch countries, including Ireland, Italy, Russia and Taiwan.
There’s a very specific procedure to follow when picking up an iPhone that has been reserved in this way. After arriving at their chosen Apple Store, the customer is likely to find a special line for others who have reserved. In any case, they must bring a government-issued photo ID to prove their identity, as only the person named on the reservation is allowed to pick up the device.
Meanwhile, many people waiting beyond Friday for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus to be released in their own country can take heart: Apple has said that the acclaimed new iPhones will be available in over 130 countries by the end of the year.
