As expected, Apple took the veil off the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus this morning – and impressive enhancements for both the cameras and audio experience were in particular abundance.
Powered by a powerful A10 Fusion processor, each of the new iPhones features stereo speakers on opposite ends, a pressure-sensitive Home button with tactic feedback engine, and IP67-standard water and dust resistance.
While the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 gets a speedier 12-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus has a dual-lens 12-megapixel back camera with optical zoom and digital zoom features. Both phones get a 7-megapixel front camera for selfies and FaceTime calls.
As previously heavily rumored, both handsets lack a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, Apple is putting wired Lightning EarPod headphones and a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter in each box.
Preorders for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will start on Friday, September 9, before the devices hit stores on September 16. The iPhone 7 will be priced from $649, while the starting price for the iPhone 7 Plus will be $769. The storage capacities for both devices will be 32GB, 128GB and 256GB, while the color options will be Black, Jet Black, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold.
