iPhone 7 Reportedly to Have Larger Battery and Ceramic Body

The Chinese-language site digi.tech.qq.com has made some intriguing claims about the iPhone 7, including that it could come with a surprisingly large battery and will be encased in ceramic.

The site has posted a photo of a battery said to be for the iPhone 7 and clearly advertising a 7.04Whr capacity. As AppleInsider observes, this is larger than the 6.61Whr battery of the iPhone 6S, and suggests that the upcoming handset might have a noticeably lengthier battery life than its predecessor.

More curiously, the original report also claims that a ceramic body is in store for the iPhone 7. This would be a major departure from the metal, glass and plastic materials previously used for iPhone chassis, though patent filings suggest that Apple has at least considered ceramic iPhones before.

While leaks of purported iPhone 7 components have become more common in recent weeks, the information gleaned from these leaks should, as ever, be treat with caution.
