While itās currently up in the air what base storage the iPhone 7 will get, a new report out of China cites āsupply chain researchā apparently revealing that 32GB will be the new minimum ā a big and appreciable increase on the 16GB storage level which still features in the iPhone 6S series.
MobiPicker tells of Kevin Wang, Director of Market Research at the China-based IHS Technology, making this revelation in a post today on the Chinese social media site Weibo. According to MobiPicker, Wang āhas provided some important, genuine information earlier tooā.
Wang also claims that the iPhone 7 will come with 2GB RAM. However, this detail is less surprising considering that the three most recently-released iPhones ā the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone SE ā have included this level of RAM as standard.
Given how storage-hungry these handsetsā advanced camera capabilities ā including 12-megapixel image capturing and 4K video shooting ā are, this bump-up in base storage would be well-received. Nonetheless, a 16GB model evidently could still be included with the launch of the iPhone 7 expected this fall.
