iPhone 8 Will Be Ditching Home Button And Fingerprint Sensor – According To Reports

One of the defining features of every iPhone and one which has been copied and reimagined by several smartphone manufacturers over the years could be getting removed completely from the newest iPhone.

A report retrieved by AppleInsider claims that the Home Button is due to be replaced completely with a sensor, which will replace the Touch ID tech that has been featured in all Home Buttons in iPhones and iPads since 2013.

The report comes from a note that was sent out to investors. KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple is currently developing a new type of bio-recognition which they will implement in the newest iPhone to coincide with the bezel-less design.
Other forms of bio-recognition could involve facial or iris recognition to help make the iPhone even more secure. The claim is supported by a series of patent documents, which show that Apple has been working on a kind of fingerprint display that works through screens.

The iPhone 8 rumors are stacking up nicely, with wireless charging, no bezel and now the possibility of comprehensive bio-recognition capabilities. We wait with bated breath for any and all details from Apple themselves.
