iTunes U Now Better Integrated with iCloud, Classroom on iOS

Apple has updated the educational resources repository iTunes U with the addition of some small but readily appreciable features on iPhone and iPad. These include a document picker which allows material to be added from cloud services including iCloud Drive, Dropbox and Google Drive.

While using Apple’s own iCloud Drive in this way is a seamless process, you will be required to have installed the apps of non-iCloud services and be signed in to those services before adding documents to iTunes U from them. However, the feature will doubtless still be appreciated by many teachers and lecturers who could routinely use cloud services other than Apple’s.

Another major addition in this new update to the iTunes U iOS app enables educators using the recently-released Classroom app for iPad to guide their students to specific iTunes U Courses. It is also now possible to import Managed Class Rosters from Apple School Manager, while Explain Everything and Notability project files can serve as course materials.

Minor enhancements to performance and stability have also been brought to the iTunes U app which is free to download from the iOS App Store.
