Jesus Calling Rolls Out More than 200K Apps

Thomas Nelson announced the Jesus Calling app has sold over 200,000 units.

According to a release, ranked in the Top 10 bestselling apps for both the iPhone and iPad for two years running, the Jesus Calling app is one of the few bestselling apps that is not a game.

“The Jesus Calling app offers a new level of accessibility for this outstanding devotional content,” said Laura Minchew, Senior Vice President and Publisher of Specialty Products. “We hear that readers love the ease of sharing content daily through social media and the immediate gift-ability of the app.”

Offering an app based on Sarah Young’s devotional has proven popular with audiences of all ages, the Company said. In 2004, Young’s prayer journal writings were compiled into a devotional written from the perspective of Jesus speaking directly to the reader. With more than 9 million copies sold, the 365-day devotional has consistently appeared on multiple bestseller lists.

The Jesus Calling line has been expanded to other products for both adults and children: devotionals Jesus Today, Jesus Lives, Dear Jesus; a Jesus Calling themed devotional Bible; and for children, the 365-day devotional Jesus Calling For Kids and the Jesus Calling Bible Storybook.
