Job ads suggest that Apple is opening its first retail store in Thailand

Apple has recently posted job ads for the usual retail store positions in Bangkok, hinting at plans for the company’s first full retail store in Thailand. At present, Apple relies on a company of authorized resellers in the country with almost 100 of them currently dotted around the capital.

Although these job listings are for all of the current positions found in any regular Apple store it does not mean that the evidence is definitive. As well as its reseller network, there are a number of store-within-a-store setups throughout the city that are staffed by Apple employees.

The recruitment of Apple retail staff is usually the last in the process of a planned new store and we’re yet to hear any rumors about planned locations in Bangkok. This makes us wonder whether the ads are really what they seem.

It’s not unfair to say that Bangkok would be a prime location for a new Apple store. It is a capital city with a population of over 8 million people and the home to a whole host of multinational companies. The sheer number of resellers and store-within-a-store setups in the city only proves how great the demand for Apple products is here.
