KFC Rolling Out Apple Pay Support in Restaurants Across US

Here’s some finger lickin’ good news: fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken has announced that it will be accepting Apple Pay as a payment method in all of its restaurants across the United States.

Apple Pay can be used with the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE and Apple Watch to pay for hand-prepared meals both inside restaurants and at KFC drive-thrus. However, these options are currently available only in “some restaurants”, with nationwide adoption due this summer.

In a press release, Chris Caldwell, KFC US Chief Information Officer, said that “ease of use and functionality were our first priorities” when weighing up which mobile payment services to accept.

Ultimately, “consumer concerns about security and privacy” helped KFC to settle on Apple Pay along with Android Pay and Samsung Pay, both of which the chain is also rolling out support for.
