Launch Party is an annual celebration of entrepreneurship that brings together the Calgary startup community and showcases promising new companies.
Event sponsors selected Gummii as Startup Most Likely to IPO (awarded by Davis LLP), Most Innovative Idea (PwC), and Too Important to Fail (SPLICE Software).
Gummii is math tutoring reimagined as a mobile game. Founded in 2012, the company’s first release has attracted more than 350,000 users, achieving the highest App Store ranking ever for a kids’ math app (#23 in US iPad).
Launch Party is hosted by Startup Calgary, an entrepeneur-led, grassroots non-profit whose mission is to activate startups.

In terms of what’s next for Gummii, Butler added: “We were blown away by the warm reception for version 1.0, which was just a taste of where we want to go. Our holiday release will incorporate a lot of of what we’ve learned so far. Look for it on iPad in the next few weeks.”
