According to the updated tech specs on Apple’s website, the 13-inch MacBook Air now supports Bluetooth 5.3, bringing it up to speed with the recently introduced 15-inch MacBook Air, which also boasts the same advanced Bluetooth standard. Apple made this update known after unveiling the 15-inch MacBook Air at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.

Bluetooth 5.3 offers more than just enhanced speed. It promises more reliable connectivity with Bluetooth accessories, and improved power efficiency, both of which can contribute significantly to a longer battery life. Those interested in more detailed information about the benefits of Bluetooth 5.3 can access it on the official Bluetooth website.

Notably, Apple has been incorporating Bluetooth 5.3 support across its product range since September 2022. All new models of Mac, iPhone, iPad Pro, and Apple Watch, as well as the second-generation AirPods Pro, now come with Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility.

However, it’s important to note that both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models continue to support only Wi-Fi 6, as opposed to the newer Mac models, which support Wi-Fi 6E. The latter offers faster wireless connectivity via the 6GHz band.
