Today is the fourth anniversary of the death of Steve Jobs – and, to mark the occasion, several leading Apple staffers have shared their memories of the talismanic Apple co-founder.
The anecdotes were added to Apple’s internal intranet site, but have been seen and reported by The Telegraph. Tim Cook recalled the “small acts of friendship” from his predecessor as Apple CEO – noting that, just minutes after the second plane flew into the World Trade Center on 9/11, Jobs rang him to make sure he was okay, before allowing other Apple staff to “stay home that day with their families.”
Eddy Cue, Apple’s current Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services, remembered how Jobs called him offering help when his daughter, now aged 13, was born three months prematurely. Cue told how Jobs “helped us, he got a couple of specialists involved. So I’ve always been thankful for that.”
Meanwhile, Phil Schiller, the company’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, said that Jobs worked “harder than people could imagine” on his well-known keynote presentations. “He would be working for months ahead of time on each and every show,” Schiller detailed.
The news of these anecdotes follows Cook’s public honoring of Jobs on Twitter earlier today.
