Lenovo Targeting SMEs to Boost Market Share in Indonesia

Today, the Chinese computer technology company Lenovo launched new server and storage products in the Southeast Asia country of Indonesia with the intention of boosting its market share in that country. The firm has revealed that it is targeting Indonesian small and medium enterprises, or SMEs.

Vony Tiju, the boss of Lenovo Indonesia Enterprise Business Group, said at the product launch in Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital and largest city, that her company offers products that “are on the entry level. Small and medium enterprises usually need servers on that level”.

The EBG, as the Group is otherwise known, will therefore be keeping a close eye on the sales of the server and storage products it launched today, which include the Storage S2200 and S3200, the XClarity management system, and the ThinkServer RD350 and TS140. All of these products are considered appropriate for helping SMEs to meet their daily business requirements.

Vony pointed out that Indonesia’s market for SME business units is potentially huge, based on her estimation that the current number of such units in the country is about 1.6 million. Her company aims to increase its server industry market share by 5.6 points from the 2014 number of 19.6% and the storage market share to double digits by 2017.
