LG has confirmed that Apple TV is now available on select 2019 TV models.
The new Apple TV app gives LG customers access to Apple’s new TV+ streaming service, though it’s important to note that it’s only available on select 2019 LG TVs right now.
For LG’s new 2020 television lineup, Apple TV comes pre-installed, as confirmed at CES.
For users with a 2019 model, it’s possible to access the new Apple TV app by going to the LG Home app Launcher and selecting the Apple TV app.
If you don’t have access to the new app, it might be worth refreshing your TV’s operating system or requesting an update.
As well as accessing your own content purchased from iTunes on the Apple TV app, users are able to subscribe to Apple TV+, and subscribe to premium subscription channels.
All LG TVs that support the new Apple TV app also have AirPlay 2 activated, meaning they can share, stream, and mirror content from their iPhones, iPads, and Macs to their TVs.
As of right now, all 2019 LED LG TVs and NanoCell TVs are able to access the Apple TV app, and the company has confirmed that the app will come to some UHD UM7X and UM6X models in the next few weeks. All 2020 LG TVs will have the Apple TV app installed/
LG has also confirmed that it will bring the Apple TV app to its 2018 models, though said it would not be coming until later in the year. We’ll bring you the latest when we know more.
