Logic Pro X to Support MacBook Pro Touch Bar from Early 2017

Following other Apple apps including Pages, iTunes and GarageBand, the company’s pro audio suite Logic Pro X will reportedly also support the new MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar from early next year.

The news comes from 9to5Mac, which reports learning from “a source familiar with the company’s plans” that Apple currently aims to bring Touch Bar support to Logic Pro X for that time. Nonetheless, there’s no concrete word on what exact functions the software will add to the Touch Bar.

9to5Mac instead speculates about what will be included by pointing out that GarageBand, Apple’s entry-level audio suite, uses the Touch Bar to make effects and plug-ins more accessible with Smart Controls. As Smart Controls can be customized, there seems the possibility of at least a degree of customization with Logic’s Touch Bar support.

Logic Pro X is available for $199.99 from the Mac App Store, and can be controlled from an iPhone or iPad with the Logic Remote app, a free download from the iOS App Store.
