M2 MacBook Air begins arriving to customers around the world

Apple’s new M2 MacBook Air has begun arriving to customers in some parts of the world.

The device went on sale last week as a pre-order, with the first units shipping to arrive at customers’ addresses from today (15 July).

Early adopters are sharing their experiences and unboxing videos online, and we’ve seen images of people queueing at Apple Stores to pick up their devices on the launch date.

Although the M2 MacBook Pro has been on sale for a couple of weeks, the new M2 MacBook Air also enjoys a complete redesign over its predecessor, bringing it in line with the new iMac and MacBook Pro 14- and 16-inch design language. Apple has waved goodbye to the wedge-shaped design from the previous models and has added new color options like Starlight and Midnight.

The new model’s M2 chip is reportedly 20% faster than the M1, and Apple has brought MagSafe back to the MacBook Air, which will no doubt go down well with consumers. Pricing starts at $1,199 in the United States, making it the most affordable Mac on the market, but it’s worth noting that shipping estimates are now stretching to a month or more as demand increases.
