Marissa Mayer, chief executive officer of Yahoo!, said the U.S. Internet corporation’s future has a lot of news — as in apps, sites and acquisitions.

Mayer told an audience at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Tuesday the two biggest products to be launched Yahoo! News Digest and Yahoo! Magazines, which factor heavily in the company’s media strategy, CNNMoney reported.

Yahoo! News Digest will incorporate much of the technology Yahoo! acquired from teenage developer Nick D’Aloiso when it spent $30 million for his application Summly last year, she said. Yahoo!’s online news content is being re-envisioned as Yahoo! Magazines, delivering stories through a Tumblr-powered interface that works on either a computer or a tablet.

Mayer also revealed that the Sunnyvale, Calif., company acquired the Android app Aviate, is a home screen launcher that changes its application lineups and notifications based on where the user’s location, CNNMoney said.

Hinting that Yahoo! plans to compete with similar products such as Google Now and Apple’s Siri, Mayer said, “[The] future of search is contextual.”

Mayer has been president and CEO of Yahoo! since July 2012. She previously was a long-time executive with Google.
