HP’s high-end Windows 10 Mobile handset the Elite x3 remains available to preorder in the UK; however, in the Microsoft Store, it’s just been given a price cut as well as a slightly delayed release date.
Neowin reports that, when Microsoft first opened preorders for the device in Britain two weeks ago, the price tag was £749. That was, to be more specific, for a Business Pack which also bundles a Desk Dock accessory allowing users to pair the Elite x3 with a mouse, keyboard and larger display.
In the UK, Microsoft wasn’t offering the Elite x3 without that Desk Dock – so it could come as a relief that the company has just slashed the price to £706.80 – that’s 5.6% off – in the UK-based Microsoft Store. That’s the same price that HP.com is charging for the Elite x3 and Desk Dock combo.
It remains unclear when exactly the handset, which also integrates several of the familiar advantages of a tablet and PC, will be released, however. While HP.com says that the device will be “delivered in 5-10 working days”, the Microsoft Store lists a more specific release date of August 22 – four days later than the previously indicated release date.
