Microsoft today sent out Build 14279 of Windows 10 to PC testers signed up with the Windows Insider program – and the virtual assistant Cortana has been handed many of the biggest enhancements.
In a new post on the official Windows blog, Microsoft revealed that this fresh build enables Cortana to speak in the Spanish (Mexico), Portuguese (Brazil) and French (Canada) languages. The assistant has even been given personality tweaks for individual markets; for example, in Brazil, Cortana has a liking for pasteis, a food commonly consumed in many parts of that South American country.
Cortana can also, in this build, provide context-specific reminders. The assistant could, therefore, remind you to buy some milk from the grocery store or pick up a particular book from the library at a pre-specified time of day when you know that you will have some time free.
