Microsoft Issues Software Update for Lumia 950 and 950 XL

If you’ve got a Lumia 950 or 950 XL phone, watch out for a software update coming your way. Microsoft has began rolling out a firmware update packaging a number of subtle tweaks for these handsets.

On its website, Microsoft indicates that this update enhances SD memory card support, automatic display brightness settings, and general stability and performance. Also pledged are fixes for a camera problem leading some users to produce noisy images in low-light conditions, and a 4K video dilemma where some users saw stripes appear during playback of recorded videos.

GSMArena.com has claimed that the update is first arriving in the UK and Ireland, but a global rollout could be well underway by the time you read this. To check for availability of this update, which has the version number 01078.00027.15506.020xx, on your Lumia 950 or 950 XL handset, tap Settings, Update & security, Phone update and then Check for updates.
