Microsoft Issues Tool for Importing Evernote Data to OneNote

If you are a long term Evernote user considering moving over to Microsoft’s cross-platform OneNote app, you might now be able to make the transition much more easily. That’s thanks to the launch of a tool specifically intended for importing notes from Evernote to OneNote.

The tool, which Microsoft is currently calling a “preview version”, can be downloaded from the OneNote website for PCs running Windows 7 or later. Microsoft has also provided a step-by-step guide to using the OneNote Importer, as it is formally dubbed.

It is not actually necessary to install OneNote in order to use the import tool, as the Evernote data will be transferred to the cloud. This should, however, enable immediate accessibility to the imported notes through OneNote across a range of devices – including computers, smartphones and tablets.

According to The Verge, a Mac version of the OneNote Importer is on the way.
