If you have long considered buying an Xbox One console, now looks like an especially good time to dive in. That’s because Microsoft has today announced both a price cut to the 500 GB Xbox One and the release of a new 1 TB version on June 16. Both models look appealing for both their prices and the hours of high quality gaming that they can provide.
The 500 GB model will fall in price to $349, while the new 1 TB model will have that version’s old price of $399. You are getting a good deal whichever of the consoles you buy; the 500 GB version represents great value, while the new console will come with not only an impressively large 1 TB hard drive, but also a more fingerprint-friendly matte finish in place of the usual glossy surface.
This new console will also come with Halo: The Master Chief Collection in, to use Microsoft’s own words, “select regions for a limited time”. Also part of the bundle will be an improved version of the Xbox One Wireless Controller, which now boasts more consistent bumpers, support for over-the-air wireless updates to firmware, and a stereo audio jack which enables use of a headset without any requirement for an adaptor.
