Microsoft Launches Surface Pro 3 and 4 Tablets in India

Microsoft has just brought its Surface Pro range of productivity tablets to India for the first time. The Surface Pro 3 and 4 can now both be ordered through Amazon.in today for shipping a week later.

Both slates, the latter first unveiled in October, have attracted great acclaim in the US and Europe. Indian customers can get their hands on the 12.3-inch Surface Pro 4, which runs Windows 10 Pro and is available in 128GB and 256GB storage varieties, from Rs 89,990.

Meanwhile, the slightly less technically sophisticated 12-inch Surface Pro 3, first unveiled in May 2014, is available only with 128GB of SSD storage, but starts at the lower price point of Rs. 73,990.

The Times of India reports Microsoft’s claim that these two slates will be exclusively available through the Indian arm of Amazon for the first six months of their release in the South Asian country. The Surface Pen stylus is included with all Surface Pro 3 and 4 models except the entry-level Pro 3 variant.

Competition is clearly hotting up in the enterprise tablet space, as Apple’s similarly-sized iPad Pro is already available in India at a price near that of the Surface Pro 4.
