Microsoft Rolling Out Planner App for Office 365 Users

Many subscribers to Microsoft’s Office 365 productivity package can now enjoy – or look forward to – new project management software called Planner. This app allows work teams to plan projects more effectively through assigning tasks with due dates, sharing files and more.

Planner is aimed at businesses, schools and organizations, who can use the software to make new plans, organize and collaborate on tasks, update statuses and more – all while visual dashboards and email notifications keep everyone aware of what progress has been made.

In a post on the official Microsoft Office blog, the Planner team has revealed that, “over the next several weeks, Planner will roll out to all eligible Office 365 customers worldwide”, including those on Office 365 Enterprise E1-E5, Business Essentials, Premium and Education plans. Eligible Office 365 users will see the Planner tile automatically appear in the Office 365 app launcher.

Microsoft has also indicated that iOS, Android and Windows versions of the Planner app will be introduced during the following few months. In the meantime, the full functionality of Planner on mobile devices is only available when you log in through a web browser.
