We knew it as Project Scorpio thanks to the E3 2017 press conference but now Microsoft have finally revealed the Xbox One X with specs that (they claim) make it the most powerful console ever made.
In brief, the console has a 6 tearflop GPU that runs 1.17GHz, 12 GB of RAM, full 4k/HDR support and a 4K Blu-Ray drive. All of this power fits into the smallest Xbox ever meaning it has to use a liquid cooling system.
Probably the biggest selling point for the One X is it’s support for 4K as well as being fully compatible with all Xbox One games and accessories. Not only that, users will notice that all previous generation games have been given a performance boost on the One X.
Microsoft also announced that 42 games are in development for its new system, 22 of which will have Xbox exclusivity. One of the biggest names coming to the console is Forza Motorsport 7 which will run at 4K and 60 FPS. This is due for release on October 3. Other titles include Assassin’s Creed: Origins, State of Decay 2, Battlegrounds and Crackdown 3, all of which will launch alongside Xbox One X on November 7.
Those that will receive enhanced improvements include Gears of War 4, Minecraft and Forza Horizon 3.
The console goes on sale on November 7 in the US for $499 and in the UK for £449.
