MLB.com At Bat’s Record-Breaking 2013: 10 Million Downloads, 1 Billion App Starts

Culminating a year when Apple named MLB.com At Bat the 10th highest grossing iOS app of all-time — out of more than 900,000 available apps — MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM) today announced that its flagship mobile product has surpassed 10 million downloads for the first time in a single season. At Bat broke its previous record of 6.7 million downloads, set in 2012, less than three months into this season on June 21.

With 60 percent of At Bat 13 subscribers opening the app every day, fans also will eclipse one billion app starts this season, nearly matching the cumulative total of app starts from 2008, when it debuted as one of the original 500 apps in the Apple App Store, through 2012 (1.2 billion).

Symbolizing MLBAM’s commitment to distributing live baseball to fans on their favorite devices, At Bat was the first media app to stream live video to iPhone in July 2009 and its continued development of a proprietary graft of broadcast television and interactive media delivery, coupled with a native user interface design, has driven more than two billion minutes of live video consumption.

At Bat is the official application of Major League Baseball. For more information, visit MLB.com.
