Attention all of you Modern Combat fans, the newest installment in the Modern Combat series, Zero Hour, is slotted to hit the iOS platform this Thursday, December 6th. For anyone unfamiliar with the game, many have heralded it as the closest possible relative (on iOS) to hit console and PC titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield.
They’re right in saying that, too. Modern Combat has the look and feel of a traditional AAA first-person shooter, which has been incredibly hard to find on the iOS platform. Most iOS-based games don’t boast the graphics capability, control, or storyline that their console or PC counterparts do, and that is what makes a Modern Combat release such an exciting event.
The last three releases from Gameloft were all incredibly successful in their own right, but the developer is promising that Modern Combat: Zero Hour will be better than any of its predecessors. Judging by the incredibly sleek-looking graphics that we saw on the teaser trailer this September, they may be right. These are some of the best first-person visuals I have seen on an iOS game to date, and it’s obvious that Gameloft held no punches when they developed this title.
The group is also promising an upgraded, in-depth, AAA storyline with great voice acting and direction. It’s going to be very interesting to see just how well this release does when it drops on December 6th, but if it’s anything like Gameloft’s last few releases, it’s going to be a surefire hit.
Because this is a Gameloft title, it will work in conjunction with Duo Games new dual analog controller. The controller might be a little expensive at USD $79.99, but it’s worth it. Be sure to check out our personal review on the controller here. You can bet that Modern Combat 4 will be compatible with the Duo Controller, and it’s the best way to get that console or PC experience on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
This would make the perfect Christmas gift, too, for that first-person fanatic in your family who already has everything else. Imagine how excited they would be to receive a Duo Controller and then play one of the most anticipated iOS games of the year on it.
