More Revealed About Apple Music Version of Carpool Karaoke

Last month, Apple Music acquired the rights to a spin-off of the hugely popular Carpool Karaoke TV series ā€“ and, now, the new showā€™s producer has revealed more about what to expect.

Ben Winston, co-founder of Fulwell 73 Productions, told Business Insider that Appleā€™s show will focus on ā€œbroadening out to different talentsā€ ā€“ meaning a move away from the primary focus on musicians that characterizes the version of Carpool Karaoke seen on The Late Late Show With James Corden.

While Corden is executive producing the Apple version, he will not be presenting it. Winston said that Fulwell and CBS Studios have nearly finalized a host for the new show, but resisted revealing more on that point. 16 episodes differing in lengths are planned for release on Apple Music.

While it remains unclear when exactly those episodes will premiere, itā€™s a great time to be an Apple Music subscriber. Recently, Frank Oceanā€™s new album Blonde hit the streaming service exclusively ā€“ and that particular album falls under our own spotlight in the just-released issue #252 of AppleMagazine.
