Move Over Black Friday…It’s Time for Cyber Monday

Retailers across the world have been hoping that the tech spending craze of Black Friday will continue into what’s been dubbed Cyber Monday. A number of leading retailers enticed shoppers with a series of discounted offers on what’s regarded as one of the two biggest online shopping days before Xmas. Next Monday also looks likely to be a huge day for online and offline retailers.

A number of retailers have extended their Black Friday offers into Cyber Monday as part of a craze which has divided opinion significantly. With fights breaking out at several UK stores last Friday, some argue that the craze is encouraging shoppers to act in a particularly unpleasant fashion as they attempt to jump queues to avoid missing out on sizeable discounts.

Nonetheless, it’s said that many shoppers are leaving their Christmas shopping later now that various retailers have become more successful at fulfilling orders before the big day itself. In the past, shoppers would head offline in order to hit physical stores as Christmas drew closer. Some customers reported problems with accessing websites on Black Friday due to the vast level of demand.

Did you participate in Black Friday? Did you get the tech you wanted? Do you think Cyber Monday is a step too far or are you always happy to be able to obtain discounts no matter what the circumstances are? Tell us below.
