Todd Tyler releases his long awaited indie country EP RUN to all major digital retailers this week. Penned solely by Tyler, the four song project marks his re-emergence as a recording artist and performer.
The effort marks the end of a three year hiatus for Tyler as he enters the country music world with an abrupt yet strong list of hard-fought songs. Blending the sonic qualities of rock, pop, and Americana, RUN features an infectious mixture of music that showcases Tyler’s versatility as a hook craftsman, storyteller, and vocalist.
Upon exiting an exclusive songwriting agreement in the creative hotbed of Muscle Shoals, Tyler felt it was the perfect time to take a chance on an independent project. While he sporadically performed pre-production over the course of 2012, RUN was ultimately rebuilt from the ground up at Zodlounge Studios (Nashville, TN). Co-Producer Brett Vargason praises the song collection as “Cool country” married with a writing style that is “a breath of fresh air” in the current country music climate. Tyler adds that “this project was a chance for me to write from a place that was pure, and develop the exact sounds that I hear in my head from beginning to end”. The EP is slated for international release on iTunes and all other major digital retailers on October 21, 2013.
