Since August, Apple has promoted its Apple Store app by giving away free music, free e-books, free apps, and more. Now that summer is over and the holiday season is in full swing, Apple is offering a free download of some popular (and appropriately merry) tunes via the U.S. app. The “Holiday Cheer” playlist, made available on Wednesday, is comprised of eight songs:
- “Ave Maria” by Il Volo
- “Children Go Where I Send Thee” by Nick Lowe
- “Duck the Halls” by The Robertsons
- “Joy to the World” by Celtic Woman
- “Silent Night” by Kelly Clarkson
- “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)” by Kool and the Gang
- “The First Noel” by Mary J. Blige
- “What Child Is This” by Marvin Stipp
(And it is indeed “Duck the Halls.”)
Unfortunately, “though Apple debuted an Apple Store app for the iPad in November,” only iPhone users with the app can download the playlist; however, those who own both an iPhone and an iPad can get the playlist on their phone and transfer it onto their tablet from there. “Holiday Cheer” will be up for grabs until December 31st. Another free offer from the Apple Store will be available in January.
If you don’t yet have the Apple Store app, download it from this link.
