The highly anticipated Hello, a smart doorbell, has finally started shipping. The doorbell has a night-vision camera, two-way audio, can take a photo before the doorbell is rung, and can even stream a 160 degree HD live video directly to your phone!
We have been waiting to get our hands on this revolutionary doorbell for months, and finally, Nest’s latest innovation has started shipping. The doorbell was first announced in September and is being sold for $299.
The 3-megapixel camera with infrared night vision records 1,600 x 1,200 video at a rate of 30 frames per second. It is capable of storing up to three hours of video, however, if you subscribe to Nest Aware, you can access more storage.
You can also partner your new smart doorbell with the Nest x Yale Lock, a tamper-proof deadlock for your front door. This also connects to the Nest app and comes complete with a touchpad. This allows you to give visitors you trust the code, rather than a key. Better still, you can also pair your new devices with Nest’s wireless external temperature sensors for the Nest Learning Thermostat. Together, these devices can help you keep your home secure and your family safe.
