Netflix has confirmed an all-star cast for Knives Out 2, after the Netflix 2022 Movie Preview dropped on Thursday.
The streaming giant famously splashed the cash on the Knives Out franchise, offering to fund two sequels after the success of the first movie in a deal said to be worth $450 million. Rian Johnsonās original film was a monumental success, generating $311.4 million at the box office on a $40 million budget in 2019.
At the very end of Netflixās monster teaser, we see Daniel Craigās Detective Benoit Blanc on a Greek island, as a boat in the background fills up with his latest subjects.
While we are yet to hear about any character names, we did spot a rather enviable ensemble, including Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Dave Baustista, Janelle MonƔe, Ethan Hawke, Jessica Henwick, Leslie Odom Jr, and Kate Hudson.
Right now, we donāt know very much about the plot of the sequel, as the cast and crew have remained tight lipped. Johnson, however, told Vanity Fair that the reason for such secrecy is because āitās just what Agatha Christie did.ā
We also donāt yet have a confirmed release date for Knives Out 2, although it is reportedly scheduled to see the light of day later this year.
Netflix is set to release an average of two films a week from now until the end of the year, in order to roll out the 81 pictures and five animated features the company has on file. 61 of the new movies are English language narrative movies, while the remaining 20 are non-English titles.
Avid film fans can also expect The Gray Man, directed by the Russo brothers and starring Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling, and Jamie Foxxās vampire movie Day Shift.
All of these are set to be available to view on Netflix in 2022, on any of your Apple devices.
