The Apple Music app got a major redesign with iOS 10’s release last month, and Apple has promoted various features of the streamlined interface in a new advert posted to its YouTube account.
The ad takes us through each of the five tabs at the bottom of the interface: Library, For You, Browse, Radio and Search. So, we get to see how you can put together a library of your own music which can be quickly accessed by hitting Library and see recommendations of new music in For You.
We also see how Browse and Search can be used to look for and come across new music, while the availability of both live and on-demand radio shows under the Radio tab is highlighted. There are even visual tasters of the programming on Apple’s Beats 1 station, as DJ Zane Lowe and artists appear.
In 1 minute and 22 seconds, the video provides a to-the-point but useful overview of the features of the redesigned Music app, which comes preinstalled on all devices running iOS 10. Apple Music boss Jimmy Iovine recently hinted that more exclusive new material, following that from Taylor Swift, Drake and Frank Ocean, could hit the Apple Music streaming service if Apple’s pursuit of such releases pays off.
