New information on Appleās long-awaited tracking tiles has been released, including that the AirTahgs will be around the size of a 50 cent coin, and around three times as thick. This news comes from leaker Max Weinbach, speaking on the EverythingApplePro YouTube channel.
Weinbach says that AirTags will be around 32mm by 32mm by 6mm, though another leaker suggested earlier that Apple would sell the AirTags in two sizes for different use cases.
As first revealed in iOS 13 code back in 2020, AirTags are small, circular tags sporting the Apple logo, and they can be attached to items such as keys, clothing, toys, and accessories.
In his leak, Weinbach suggested that AirTags will be sold for around $35 on launch – by comparison, Samsungās new SmartTags went on sale for $29.99, and Tile tags are cheaper.
In the iOS 14.5 beta, a new tab called Items is enabled by default, so we could finally see the new AirTags coming early this spring. According to the latest leak, Apple will announce the AirTags soon, either via a press release online, or via an event, though the ship has sailed on a March event, so weāll either see an April event or AirTags come at WWDC 2021.
Weinbach added that Apple is set to introduce three new products in the ātablet, wearable, and accessories marketā soon, and added that theyāre likely to be new Apple Watch bands and a new iPad Pro.
