New Apple Ad: “If It’s Not an iPhone, It’s Not an iPhone”

About a week and a half ago, Apple introduced a new advertising campaign for the iPhone, carrying the tagline “If it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone”. Each advertisement of the campaign seems to focus on a different appealing aspect of Apple’s flagship device, and a new advertisement recently unveiled by Apple has the huge choice of apps as its subject.

This new advert, which you can watch below, is called ‘Amazing Apps’ and proudly points out that there are now over 1.5 million apps available for use on the iPhone. The voice-over describes the apps as “hand-picked, awe-inspiring, just plain surprising” and dubs the overall app choice “over one-and-a-half million of the best apps available”.

The repeated emphasis on the high quality of the apps is perhaps intended as an indirect attack on the choice of apps for Android devices on offer through Google Play. Android apps rival iOS apps in number, but are often considered generally poorer in quality.
