It is looking very likely that the fourth generation Apple TV will be unveiled at Apple’s big media event on September 9 – and, now, more details about the new set-top box’s hardware have been unearthed.
9to5Mac has reported “reliable sources” claiming that, though there will remain evident similarities in hardware between the new Apple TV and its predecessor, the former will also come with many appreciable changes – including a color-matched remote and two storage options.
The new Apple TV, the report elaborates, will be available in 8GB and 16GB flash memory flavors. Either amount of storage should not be considered restrictive, as the sources point out that all non-app content will be online streamed.
The box’s remote, meanwhile, will allegedly be dark gray/black, therefore better visually matching the rest of the Apple TV than a silver remote, like that of the present model, would.
Given what a significant leap forward over the current version the new Apple TV looks set to be, it could well even steal the show at next week’s event. Time to get very excited indeed…
