New Gmail Update Introducing Send Later Feature

With Gmail turning fifteen years old this week, Google is adding new functionality to the world’s most popular email platform – including the ability to schedule emails natively inside of the Gmail app and web experience.

Google has announced a tool that will help users schedule emails whenever they wish, and whilst third-party plugins like HubSpot have offered such functionality for a number of years, including it as part of the native Gmail experience will no doubt lead to increased adoption and help more businesspeople become more productive.

“We understand that work can often carry over to non-business hours, but it’s important to be considerate of everyone’s downtime. We want to make it easier to respect everyone’s digital well-being, so we’re adding a new feature to Gmail that allows you to choose when an email should be sent,” Google said in a blog post

“Just write your email as you normally would, then schedule it to arrive in your recipient’s inbox at a later date and time.”

Scheduling emails inside of the Gmail experience will ensure emails are ready to be sent ahead of time and help businesses create a more streamlined experience that puts their customers at the forefront.

GSuite users will get the ability to turn on email schedule first, and public access will follow this summer.
