New iMacs and Magic Accessories Attract Positive Reviews

As we reported earlier today, Apple has announced new Retina 4K and 5K display iMacs and the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2 – and they have all been reviewed favorably.

In her video review, Mashable‘s Christina Warren gushed that all three of the new desktop accessories are, unlike earlier versions, rechargeable. She added that, ultimately, the new 5K iMac is “a solid upgrade at an even lower price” than last year’s version, with a display that is “even more beautiful”, before amusingly declaring that “I want to jump inside this screen”.

The price of the 4K iMac, too, was applauded by CNET‘s Dan Ackerman, who commented that it is “competitively priced with the handful of 4K-display Windows PCs we’ve reviewed.” He also noted that, even if you are sticking with your current iMac, “it may certainly be worth picking up the new keyboard and mouse or trackpad to give your older iMac a facelift.”

Perhaps we should leave Engadget to wrap it all up; the site’s reviewer Dana Wollman called the iMac “still the best all-in-one”, attributing this to the “near-standard 4K and 5K screens, and even better color accuracy than before”. And, of course, all of the iMacs launched today come with preinstalled OS X El Capitan, which has itself been met with positive reviews.
