New iPhone to be officially named iPhone X

A leak on Saturday identified that the highly anticipated iPhone device will be called the iPhone X. Rumored to be priced at around $1,000, the phone is set to be unveiled on Tuesday at an event held at the company’s brand new Apple Park headquarters. 9to5Mac reported that two other iPhones would be called the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

This release marks the 10th anniversary of the iPhone which still remains Apple’s most popular product. The model’s names were discovered by developer Steven Troughton-Smith, who found them through a release of a software code.

According to 9to5Mac, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be upgrades of the 7 and 7 Plus models and will feature glass panels, a micro processing chip and wireless charging.

It is the iPhone X that has fans the most excited, however. Apple has done away with the traditional home button and instead users will be able to control the device with a series of gestures. The phone will also feature a high definition OLED display, earpiece and 3D sensors that enables Face recognition.
