New iPhone Renders Offer Insight Into 2019 Models

A smartphone with a large screen displaying a marbled pattern with purple and beige swirls is shown at an angle. The renders highlight its dual rear camera setup and physical buttons on the side. Text “©OnLeaks x CashKaro.com” is superimposed on the screen, reminiscent of 2019 models of the iPhone.

New renders offer the most realistic view yet of the new iPhone.

OnLeaks and CashKaro have partnered together to offer new details on the expected casing for the 2019 iPhone range and provided renders of how they expect the new devices to look.

The images show a new back glass design, previously rumored by multiple Apple sources.

According to their report, the new 5.8-inch iPhone, which will be known as the iPhone XI, will measure in at around 143.9 x 71.4 x 7.8mm, a slight change from last year’s measurements.

The report added that the changes were “almost indistinguishable” when compared with the iPhone XS and that the changes were purely due to the new chassis of the iPhone and its glass back, which will differentiate the iPhone from previous models.

New glass design

What’s most interesting about the renders and their report is that the 2019 iPhone range will sport a “new and unique” glass design on the rear, made from a single piece of glass.

The glass will incorporate the new triple-lens camera bump as previously reported.

By using a single piece of glass on the rear, the camera bump should be less noticeable.

There are a few other small changes to this year’s iPhone range, including a reposition of the microphone on the rear of the iPhone, and a new mute button.

The lightning adaptor seems to be staying put, however, despite some rumors of a USB-C iPhone coming soon.

The new mute button is similar to the iPad’s old mute switch, moving up and down rather than left to right. It’s unknown why Apple has chosen to make the switch, but perhaps it’s due to the internals of the device, or for better water resistance and protection.

Just as last year, Apple is expected to release three new iPhones – a successor to the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR.

All three are expected to include a new triple-lens camera system and bilateral wireless charging support, and the company is also reportedly going to include an 18W adapter in the iPhone packaging, rather than a 5W.
