New Leak Suggests Top-End “iPhone 7 Pro” Arriving This Fall

This fall, Apple could introduce a new “iPhone 7 Pro” that, ranking just above the usual Plus models, will be right at the top-end of the iPhone lineup, according to details from a leaker on Chinese site Weibo.

This source on the social media site claims, says PocketNow, to know the various storage and pricing tiers for the new iPhones due later this year. It is said that the iPhone 7 will come in 32GB, 64GB and 256GB flavors, while the storage options for the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Pro will match these except for 128GB taking the place of 64GB.

The leaker also claims that, in the Chinese market, the prices will range from ¥5288 for the base iPhone 7 model, right through to ¥8888 for the most expensive variant of the iPhone 7 Plus. PocketNow has calculated that, should these figures be accurate, the 32GB iPhone 7 Pro could realistically cost $849 in the US.

While this leak’s authenticity remains far from a foregone conclusion, Apple does seem likely to continue leveraging its formidable presence in the high-end smartphone market. Still, it is unclear what features Apple would want to limit to an iPhone 7 Pro, given the few major changes expected with the iPhone 7 line in general.
