LG has unveiled a new version of its curved smartphone after the original device was deemed to be too difficult to use. The LG G Flex 2 is a slightly smaller version of its predecessor and was shown off at the Consumer Electronics Show. Its screen is able to display HD images, with the device coming complete with a “self-healing” coating which means any scratches on the rear should be repaired quickly.
The device has divided opinion, with some complimenting LG on the phone’s performance whilst other remained cynical. It’s not yet known when the handset will be available to buy or what price it will sell for.
The G Flex 2 has an OLED (organic light-emitting diode) and a 5.5 inch display. The original display was six inches in size. LG claims that the self-healing coating will mean scratches can be repaired in just ten seconds, whilst the OLED screen will be highly damage-resistant. The phone will also feature a 13.1 megapixel rear camera and a 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera. It features a Qualcomm 810 chip and runs on Android.
