New Photos of Alleged Screen of 4-Inch “iPhone SE” Leaked

Avid tech leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer has just posted new photos, from a reportedly reliable source, of what are believed to be the screen and façade of the upcoming 4-inch “iPhone SE”.

Writing for NowhereElse.fr, of which he is editor-in-chief, Hemmerstoffer notes that the photos, “captured by a source which in the past has proved reliable”, further support previous reports that the small handset will not come with the pressure-sensitive 3D Touch technology of the iPhone 6S series.

He observes, for example, that the alleged “iPhone SE” display visibly lacks two particular components that can be seen in another photo of a similarly dissembled iPhone 6S display.

A research note just sent to investors by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also lends further credibility to various previous rumours about the device. Kuo has reiterated that the handset will, in the US, cost between $400 and $500; this is in line with the claim of another reliable source, 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman, that the phone will take the “price point” of the iPhone 5S.

Kuo does, however, claim that the new phone will have a 12-megapixel rear camera – contrary to the previously widespread expectation that an 8-megapixel shooter would instead be included.
