New Photos of Case Support Rumors About 9.7-Inch iPad Pro

The authenticity of various previous reports about the features of the upcoming 9.7-inch iPad Pro has been supported by a new set of photos of what is supposedly a case for the tablet.

The various holes in the case, the images of which were shared today by the experienced tech leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer on Twitter, strengthen the credibility of rumors that quad speakers, a flash-equipped rear camera and a Smart Connector are in the offing.

Though another reliable source, 9to5Mac writer Mark Gurman, has claimed that the slate will share the iPad Pro name with the 12.9-inch tablet released in November, Hemmerstoffer seems uncertain what exactly the device will be called.

Names that he has thrown up on Twitter include the iPad 7, iPad Air 3 and iPad Pro Mini. Of these names, iPad Air 3 seems the most probable. However, Hemmerstoffer is perhaps just hinting at his genuine uncertainty over the moniker, rather than reporting anything told to him by a reliable source.

Whatever the situation here, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer before all of our questions are answered. Apple will reportedly unveil the device on March 21, meaning that the company should start sending out the invites for the launch event very soon.
