New Photos Show Possible iPhone 7 in Familiar Color Choices

Two separate sources have posted photos of what are purported to be this year’s iPhone 7, pictured in the familiar iPhone color choices of space gray, silver, gold and rose gold. While the handsets certainly look beautiful and sleek in the images, doubt is now cast on earlier rumor about a “space black” option.

The Italian site Macitynet has posted a photo, which you can see below, of what looks like iPhone 7 units on clear display in these four colors. Consistent with previous reports, the antenna lines now only line, rather than cross, the phone’s rear – leaving a cleaner look that distracts less from the sumptuous aluminum finishes.

NowhereElse.fr editor Steve Hemmerstoffer has posted two similar images, apparently originating from Chinese social media site Weibo and displayed below. However, while reports from Macotakara and 9to5Mac last month suggested that Apple might, for the iPhone 7, drop the space gray option in favor of space black, the established color appears in its usual shade in all of these new images.

The photos certainly don’t conclusively prove that a space black iPhone 7 isn’t on the way. However, should it indeed be coming, it is peculiar that whoever got hold of these iPhone 7 units – assuming that they are genuine – was seemingly unable to also grab a space black model in the process.
