New Products, In-Game Extras, More for (RED) Anti-AIDS Fight

To mark World AIDS Day, Apple will significantly expand its (RED) initiative with new products, in-game extras, iTunes goodies and more, funds from which will go towards the anti-AIDS fight.

Apple already offers various PRODUCT(RED) products and accessories. Money from these help to prevent the spread of HIV in sub-Saharan Africa. Today, Apple is releasing four further (RED) accessories: an iPhone 7 Smart Battery Case, iPhone SE Case, Beats Solo 3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones and the Pill+ Portable Speaker.

Furthermore, during the period from December 1 until December 6, use Apple Pay to make a purchase at an Apple store, the Apple website or via the Apple Store app, and Apple will donate $1 to the (RED) charity, up to $1 million. Make any Apple Pay transaction with a Bank of America card, and that financial institution will also make a donation – also up to $1 million.

Globally, customers will be able to directly donate to (RED) through iTunes, while US customers will get the chance to freely download documentary The Lazarus Effect, which focuses on (RED)’s mission. The Killers’ holiday album Don’t Waste Your Wishes has been exclusively released on iTunes, with all US proceeds going to the Global Fund.

Over the next week, a range of popular iOS games, including Angry Birds 2, Angry Birds POP!, Boom Beach, Candy Crush Jelly Saga, FarmVille: Tropic Escape, MARVEL Contest of Champions, SimCity BuildIt and more, are offering limited-edition, special (RED) content, with all money made from the associated in-app purchases also adding to the Global Fund.
