Fresh insight into the potential dimensions of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max has been given by new schematics, which indicate that the next flagship smartphone from Apple will have a different notch for the first time since the iPhone X.
The diagrams were posted on Twitter by Max Weinbach, and suggest that in the case of both Pro models of the iPhone 14, the devices will be thicker and incorporate a more prominent camera bump. The schematics also show a hole punch and pill cutout on the front, which is what we saw on previous CAD renders.

There has been speculation that some models of the iPhone 14 might not have a removable SIM card slot, eSIM-only variants of the device potentially being made available in their place. The schematics don’t have to be accurate about this, however, as it doesn’t affect case makers.
As shown in the latest schematic, it is expected that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will be 77.58mm wide and 160.7mm high, which would make it slightly smaller than the current generation of the device.
It seems that the iPhone 14 Pro, meanwhile, will closely resemble the iPhone 13 Pro as far as dimensions are concerned. However, subtle design differences will prevent those who already have an iPhone 13 Pro from reusing the case for the 14 Pro.
